The Hidden Agenda Of Time Management
So many of us are going throughout our lives battling time. Feeling like time is working against us, the relationship we have developed with time is one where we are the victims.
Talking about how little time we have has become something we celebrate in our modern American world. Not having enough time has become a status of success or measure that you are on the right path.
We subconsciously use idioms like "I never have time for me" or "If I can only carve enough time for XYZ." Only to be met by understanding faces, the same faces that quickly validate that yes, indeed, there isn't enough time in this world.
That is because we have been programmed to believe that we are victims of time.
That not having enough time for “YOU” is the norm.
This is why despite time tracking apps, hints, and tips being massively available, only 17% of people are successfully tracking their time.
This myth that all we need is to acquire skills that will help us manage our time is designed to keep us stuck in a perceptual world where there is never enough time.
Now, I need you to stop wallowing in your feelings of inadequacy and listen up. I'm going to share with you what the experts won't share with you.
"You can't manage time."
What??
You read it correctly.
The concept of Time is an illusion. You can't manage something that does not exist.
But you know what you can manage?
Your energy 🤯
The results you seek are directly correlated to managing your energy, not how you manage your time. To have 100% of your energy available for your daily tasks, you must be fully engaged in the present moment.
Why?
Because engaged energy can only exist in the present moment.
On an average day, your alarm goes off, and your first thought is about your to-do list. Immediately, you are greeted with feelings of dread and resistance towards your day. This leads you down a downward spiral of negative thoughts about how you got here in the first place. When you meet your daily task, with thoughts from the past, repeating the same old stories. Your level of engaged energy towards your present goal diminishes.
The same goes for meeting your daily task with your thoughts in the future. Thinking of all the things that hypothetically will go wrong in your day, worrying about things that have not happened is one of the biggest energy zappers we face. Future tripping, also known as anxiety, kills the amount of energy you have available in the present moment.
You don't need more time in your day.
You need to effectively manage your thoughts, AKA your energy. What you need to do is reframe your relationship with time and learn to use your energy in a manner that allows you:
To Influence Myself Effortlessly
To crush your daily goals, you need to meet your day with a full tank of engaged energy. The only way to increase your engaged energy level is by increasing your presence. Be fully in the now and use your power to influence yourself effortlessly towards your dreams.
